Sometimes it’s just nice to get outside. Put on some comfy shoes and go explore. We have some really great walking routes in Helmond for kids. Fresh air and new knowledge about the city: it’s a win-win situation.

The Warande Walk
Stadspark de Warande has a rich history, full of exciting secrets, beautiful love stories, and mysteries. You’ll discover all of this during the Warande Walk. This walk for children and their guardians takes you to all the special spots in the park. The activity booklet that accompanies the Warande Walk is for children aged 8 to 12 and is available for free at the VVV Helmond.

A Stroll Around Helmond
This route focuses on the center of Helmond. It takes you on a discovery tour of characteristic spots. ‘A Stroll Around Helmond’ comes in two versions: the activity booklet for children aged 4 to 7, and the activity card for children aged 8 to 12. Activity booklets and cards can be picked up for free at VVV Helmond.

A Saturday Walk Through De Bundertjes
Start your Saturday off right with a walk through De Bundertjes. Begin at Natuurtuin de Robbert, where volunteers are present from 09:00 to 12:00 to show what they’re doing. You might even help catch water insects. It’s both educational and fun. From the nature garden, it’s a pleasant walk to Zorgtuinderij de Bundertjes, where you can enjoy the surroundings. Farm animals, a play area, an orchard, and a small shop with homemade products—there’s something for everyone.

Sporentocht in the Groot Goor
The Groot Goor is a forest and nature area east of Mierlo-Hout. As you walk, you’ll pass through beautiful forest areas, along large and small meadows, and can make a stop at orchards. The area is also known for its flora and fauna. For example, there’s the kingfisher trail. With a bit of luck, you might see them flying around. Fun for the kids: a sporentocht. Deer footprints, empty dragonfly larva skins, snail trails—if you look closely, there’s a lot to discover.
