There is, of course, plenty to see and do in Helmond itself. But did you know that just beyond the city limits, within a 15-minute drive from the city center, there are quite a few spots you shouldn't miss? And they're all equally enjoyable for both children and adults!
1. Tea Garden De Wilde Framboos
A hidden gem in Bakel! It's almost invisible from the road, but once inside, you'll feel like you're in a little paradise. The garden features several seating areas where you can enjoy a delicious lunch. With a cup of tea, of course.
Nuijeneind 5, Bakel
2. PorcusCampus
Did you know that there are no fewer than 16 pig breeds? Well, the folks at PorcusCampus sure do, and they love to share all about them. Kids will have a blast in the event hall and can even cuddle with piglets. Highly recommended!
Kloosterdreef 5, Aarle-Rixtel
3. Butterfly Safari
Take a trip to the tropics, but without the long flight. Just 15 minutes from Helmond, you can discover the most extraordinary butterflies from all over the world, surrounded by exotic plants.
Broekstraat 40, Gemert
4. Mooy Picking Garden
A garden full of wildflowers—essentially one big bouquet. Together with the owner, Yvonne, you can stroll through the garden and create your own bouquet. As you walk, she’ll happily tell you all about the flowers you encounter.
Kasteelweg, Aarle-Rixtel
5. Alpacafarm Alpakuba
Aren't they adorable? Those fluffy little creatures. In Bakel, you can take a walk with alpacas and even enjoy a high tea among these sweet creatures. Now that's an experience! You can study them up close (or maybe they'll study you).
Zand 8, Bakel
