The three-kilometer Street Art Route takes you along surprising artworks in the center of Helmond, at special locations. It’s a fun way to learn more about Helmond and its history, as every mural tells its own story, inspired by the city.

Talents You'll come across works by Studio Giftig, De Strakke Hand, Robin Nas, Collin van der Sluijs, Merel Morre, Ilse Weisfelt, and Gino Bud Hoiting, among others. Additionally, artwork from other artists can be found in various neighborhoods throughout the city.

Street Art - Lucas Gassel on the Library Wall

You can keep looking at this mural because it’s filled with symbolism and references. It’s a whopping 400 square meters, so take your time.

Street art - Bert Kuijpers

On the side of the Het Speelhuis theater, on the connecting wall between the former rectory and the theater, you can see the monument in memory of Bert Kuijpers.

Street art - Canal of Cult

This gigantic mural of 850 m² is a real eye-catcher. It is a seven-part artwork, spread over the wall at Speelhuisplein, the tunnel under the Traverse (Kromme Steenweg), and the wall opposite Boscotondo.

In Helmond, artist Ilse Weisfelt created a Van Gogh-inspired mural, drawing inspiration from the workers depicted in his paintings.

Street art - Lord of the castle Hezelo

He was a knight, nobleman, the first lord of the castle, and the namesake of Helmond: Lord Hezelo.

The 70-meter-long mural—or better yet, XXL watercolor—on the wall of the Traverse, featuring birds, berries, and plants, forms a connection between the busy city center and the tranquil park of the castle garden.

This is a mural that can only be admired from the train. It’s located on the back of the old Van Gend & Loos building, now called Loods 20, which houses the EDAH Museum and the Organ Museum.
